Privacy & how we use your photo

What we collect

The photo you upload, your answers to the personalisation questions, and — only if you complete an order — the email and shipping address you give Shopify at checkout. We do not ask for or store payment card details ourselves; Shopify handles payment directly.

Why we process it

To generate your pet's personalised biography and artwork, to fulfil your order if you place one, and to measure (in aggregate, non-identifying form) how well the site is working.

Who else sees it

Your photo and answers are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely to generate your biography text, and may be sent to a background-removal provider if that feature is enabled. Order and shipping details are handled by Shopify. We do not sell your data, and we never use your photo in advertising unless you explicitly opt in during checkout.

How long we keep it

Draft artworks that are never ordered are deleted after a limited period. Paid order records are kept for as long as needed for fulfilment, accounting and legal obligations, after which personal details (photo, shipping address) can be deleted on request while a minimal order record is kept for our books.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@example.com. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies & analytics

We use privacy-conscious analytics (Google Analytics 4 and/or the Meta Pixel, where configured) to understand which steps of the personalisation flow work well. These tools never receive your pet's name, your written answers, or your photo — only anonymous, structured events such as “a preview was generated.”
